ARB locker question

Hey,
I know, progress for me is a lot slower than it used to be pre-kid. I have had an ARB locker installed in my front diff for the past six or seven years but I never hooked it up, its just been marinating in diff fluid:flipoff2:
Anyway, I finally got my OBA system piped up last night and I just have to wire the switch for the ARB (hopefully I'll be much quicker than the rest of the system).:flipoff2:
My question, for those that have/know ARB lockers, is......will it make any distinctive noises when engauging/dis-engauging. Do you think I will have any problems like it being frozen for being in the diff that long without being used?
Thanks in advance....

Must be dead this afternoon, nothin but chit chat. If you can reply great, I plan to engauge it this weekend. Thanks.

From my experiences, they are silent.

I've only heard Stankomas click once when engageing and disengaging.

I think the whistling is the solenoid bleeding down. Hopefully will hear no noise or a slight click when I try it. Thanks.

On the trail, or with the engine running, don't here anything. In the garage with all quiet, you can here a slight tap as it engages.

Thanks for all the tips. Did not get to it this weekend as originally planned. Took my boy fishing instead. I guess I needed a break.

Yep, mine did! It sounded like an open air line leaking the whole time. This was due to my poor install I know, but boy what a pain in the butt to get right. I'll go elect. or OX if I do another selectable.

I set the shims tight, but after a few thousand miles it began to leak as it became loose and rotated slightly with the diff. which put a small crack in the line. No harm done other than replacing the copper line. and throwing more shims in their to tighten it up.

Nice when they work, pain the the butt with the slightest problem.

Gmachine,
I kinda figured you were not supposed to hear air all the time. If I do, I'll know there is a screw up.. I used the blue nylon (I think) line with the spring by the diff.

Mahaffey,
Sounds like the responses are fairly consistant except gmachine. Now I know what to listen for, even though I am half deaf.
