So Im buying a ARB third with 5.29's ready to for my SASed1994 yota pickup.Just wondering what kind of compressor I should run,I would love to have OBA but heard that even the bigger compressor burns up trying to inflate tires. Also how difficult is it to wire it up and where do you mount the compressor big or small?Just wondered what yall thought, thanks!

I use the VIAir (continuous duty) compressor with 2.5 gal. tank. It does get hot when airing up tires, but hasnt burned up yet! :). Its mounted in the cargo section of my 4runner. The wiring was the hardest part. Not difficult, just time consuming.

well im pretty much asking which arb compressor cause i have to use it for my locker also.

Why would you think you have to use an ARB brand compressor? Air is air. None of theirs are up to the task of filling tires or running air tools, but they are nice if you need a tiny reliable compressor just for your lockers.
Skip the electric compressors altogether and put together an AC compressor OBA setup.

i just figured it was alot easier to just use one of those.

They all wire up just the same, and even the arb brand compressors that aren't built specifically for the lockers (the larger models) will have to be regulated down to 100psi or less before going to the arb air solenoid.

:edit: Search around the web about fabbing up a york or sanden compressor oba setup. They will put out as much air as a small shop compressor and the ability to use tools and air up tires in under 30 minutes on the trail can never be overrated.

The newest HO ARB compressor has twice the output of their old one. It will put 8psi a minute into a 35 inch tire and is biult to military specs. there old HO got a bad rap, but the new one is up to the task for airing up tires, however it won't run airtools the arb comprssors come with a pressure switch to regualte the air and they are really easy to hook up.

Thanks Cperry thats the one you got for 250 right?
