are these any good??

dont know about the others but i run the bfg ats and they have good side tread that grips well in ruts and suck off road. great on road too.. about 35k on mine with at least a third tread left

the BFG AT is the one everyone's trying to copy. I've never had any of the imitations, but have been fairly happy with all my BFGs. I'm on my second set of 31x10.5 ATs on my XJ, it sees a lot of street miles with an occasional trail run. Had a set of 33x12.5 on my CJ too.

the BFGs are hands down the cats azz out of that group....but they cost the most.

okay, well my Jeep is a DD and i would like to keep the smooth ride but not be scared to go on some trails because of my tires... I want to be able to do Daniels at URE. So if the BFG's can allow me to do that without too much trouble I'd go with those.

out of the choices given the BFGs will give you the best shot at what you are wanting.
No promises on where you can make it, thats a lot up to the driver and the rig...

Have you tried Daniel before? Lift height will come into play with Daniel. How much do you have? Are you locked at all? Judging by the 31s I assume you don't have much lift. While the BFGs are by far the best tire in that group I don't think those are what you're looking for if you're wanting to do trails like Daniel. You're trying to make a DD do a trail that's more suited for dedicated trail rigs with aggressive tires.

Perhaps you'd be better off buying two sets of tires. One for everyday driving and an aggressive set for wheeling? May I recommend the LTBs or TSLs. They are much less money than the BFGs and will outperform them on the trail. Rims can be had for $100. Just look around this forum. It doesn't take long to change four tires and I think you'd be much happier.

Grabbers are almost identical to the BFGs in tread design and performance, and many say the tread compound is even better as far as longevity, and it is pretty hard to beat BFG in that area. I had them on a used truck, so I can't vouch for how many miles on the tires, but they were great tires.

I have a RE 3.5" SF, hoping to bump it to a 4.5"... with just adding 1" spacers then getting a 1" block to drop the TC. But with 31's and a 3.5" make it? I know alot depends on the driver and rig itself but just any guesses? As far as tires, how much would some 31x10.5x15's in tsl's run me?

WOW !! A TECH question in for sale section ?

feck'n newbs.......

moved....

Generals have thin sidewalls. Seen two sets on trail rides and both got holes in the sidewalls.

Coopers are good, but wear fast.

BFG are really good and last 50k miles - in my opinion the best option by far.

i've ran the bfg's on my silverado, but have switched to the coopers and like them quite a bit better; although they don't last as long as the bfgs. for double duty though i say go with the coopers. just my 2 pennies

BFG's are the best if your running it as a DD and an occasional DRY trail runner.

They are a bitch in the mud. They dont clear anything and actually get quite dangerous. Almost hit countless trees and rolled off lots of random crap with mud caked BFG's.

If you got the coin, go for the BFGs. I'd do Daniel on my all terrains in my stock yota pickup all day and never have a problem. Hell, one day I got to the ledge in 2wd. Granted it's locked in the rear, but I've seen Jeeps breaks where I went in 2wd! Let it get wet in URE and you can forget about it...With pretty much ANY tire.

i currently have bfgs on my d-max, love them for the road but still aggressive enough to take me down some hunting roads. When i bought it, it had the cooper st's on it. on the road they were load and rough wonse they started to wear. The coopers did really well in the mud, (much better than the BFG). My brother had a set of generals on his z71. he said they did well in the mud for an AT due to the open tread. He now has the bfgs on his z71 and said it requires more of the gas pedal to keep them clean in the mud, but the side wall is nice in the ruts. so if your looking for a good road tire i would go with the bfg or general. More of an off road tire out of the 3 i would go for the cooper, b/c they seem to dig well ( not to mention they have a great side wall tread. let us know what you decide!

Thanks guys!! All the info really helps! I'm leaning toward bfg's M/T's since I like the aggressive look and want really good offroad grip. Although the A/T's all also catching my eye. I'll let ya know 88yota what I deside
