I am looking to buy a large SUV and I am looking at one that is in Boone NC.
Are trucks over there rusty? I don't know the whole history, but assuming that it spent all its life in that area would it suffer from rust? It is a 2005 Excursion. In the pictures and the video it seems to be in reasonably good shape, with some rusty fasteners in the engine compartment.

Better yet, do you know anything about this truck? I am pretty sure that is being sold by a dealer, but the ad does not say that explicitly.

Please advise if there is a better area of the forum for this post to be in.

Thanks!

My personal experience..... Probably. They tend to over salt the roads up there. I lived in Jefferson (just north of Boone) and most people don't rinse their undercarriage off.

Let's not talk about it. I go home smelling of pb blaster. Have them run it by my shop, I'll take a quick look and let you know. I've got a 7.3l excursion that's in the shop from time to time. It's extremely rusty.

If its been thru the roan mnt area in the winter time very much it'll have rust.

No 1st hand knowledge but that is way OVERPRIcED

Finding one online is not a problem. Finding one with decent history, seller who is honest and forthcoming with information is a different story.

By now most of these trucks are overpriced, high miles, with half dozen owners and for some reason a lot of them for sale in the Southeast are from the Northeast.

First one on your list is 4 owners and of course from NY, PA, MD etc... Most likely rusty.
