If you were in Asheville for three days what would you do.

Just got here for a conference.

What restaurants would you eat?

Any recommendations on hiking trails?
Any recommendations on road bike routes?

Thanks!

12 Bones and Rocky's Hot Chicken Shack are great places to eat. Like Chris said, tons of good hiking on and around the Parkway. Our minor league team, the Tourists, have a really great ballpark not far from the mall area.
Lemme know if you need any direction when you get here.

Hike Mount Mitchell

The parkway out towards Brevard is a must. Asheville is a foodie heaven. Do not eat at a chain restaurant, try the small places. If you like zip lines I hear Navitat is fun.

If you happen to want Chinese food wild wok in the mall is really good.
We walk downtown a lot don't worry about the funny looking people most of them are non violent but the bums can get annoying after dark if your at pritchard park just so you know but that seems to be the only area.
If your bored at lunch time give me a call and ill meet up with ya since my shop is 10min away.

find some breweries.. you cant swing a dead cat over your shoulder without hitting a brewery in that town.

the wedge, asheville brewing, LAB, just had a brain fart and cant remember any more breweries.

If you have time for brunch find tupilo honey.. best grits.

Start at thirsty monk downtown and then walk down hill on the south slope. You can hit asheville brewing, hi wire, twin leaf brewing and green man all within about 2 blocks of each other. All great breweries.

If that's not your thing,
West asheville
Biscuit head for breakfast, u-joint for lunch and the admiral for dinner.

Downtown mayfield for breakfast, farm burger for lunch, and the southern for dinner.

If you want to spend some $$ and impress the lady, take her to Curate' for dinner.

Thanks for all the input guys. It has really helped a ton. Went to 12 Bones yesterday for lunch. Pretty sure i'll be going back today before I leave.

I'll tell you, this is a confusing city. When I was thinking mountain town, I thought boone. Easy to get around. This place is anything but. Might be the off ramp capital of the world.

And i'm pretty sure the parking lots are smaller. I've never had trouble parking my truck, but these lots make it tough.

Thank you all again.

I always stop there on my way to hurricane/Harmon, windrock, bumpus, etc. I've never actually spent much time there other than gas stops. Longest I've ever been there was when I saw Biltmore estate and holy cow is that awesome!

It's not bad getting around once you know how to get around. I don't even try parking my crew cab diesel anywhere near downtown, it is absurd even looking for a parking spot.

Be sure and hit Rocky's Hot Chicken Shack before you leave.
