Just curious on folks opinions on calling out someone on here that you think knowingly screwed you on a sale.
Quick story here. I posted a wanted add for a carb, posted what I needed it for, get a pm from the person saying they will have one for sale in a few days. Well I see this person posted an add a few days later for the carb, ( now here is part of the reason I ask for opinions because I kinda screwed up) I didn't read the add just noticed it was the carb and same person. I pm and ask if he has it, and if it will work for my application, person told me they bought it for the same vehicle but wasn't going to use it. I drive over an hour, buy it, get it home and find out its completely wrong. During this I was talking to another member about another carb that would work but circumstances didn't allow me to pick it up (messaged the person and got no answer, turns out it was my phone service and they didn't receive the message), then this one was a little closer. Come to find out the person that sold me the wrong one went and bought the right one from this other member the next day even after telling me he didn't need the one he sold me because the truck sits and he didn't want it to "go bad" just sitting. Now I know I don't have real proof but it doesn't take a genius to figure out he knew exactly what he was doing.
Now granted it is a used part and partly my fault for not being a little more diligent on my end, but I was told it would work and the part number was correct. But seriously the biggest thing I'm pissed about is knowing that a member on here would intentionally screw someone else by selling them a part they knew won't work, because it didn't for them. I know, I know, it happens all the time on the old interweb but you I would hope you could think a little better of people on here.
Am I wrong for being pissed? Should I just write it off and let it go or call the person out in front of everyone? Just curious as to others opinions. Now I got lucky and sold the part in question to someone that could use it, but ended up losing like $75 on it just a couple days after I bought it. Sucks cause if I'd have bought the one that would work from another member, I would have actually saved $150.
