Well this morning I was about to head to ikea in Charlotte to pick up a couch and chair I hopped in my 94 cummins and when I started up my dodge , rattle bang scrape ! Fan clutch bearing went out and eat my radiator ! Well parts are ordered , but I tryed to get the old clutch off and I know it's reverse threads but still couldn't get it to budge . Any advise on how to loosen the nut ?

Air hammer is by far the easiest, but if you don't have one your next best bet will be a hammer and chisel or punch. Unless you are Heman, that fan clutch nut isn't coming off with channel locks.

It will slip the belt before grip becomes a major issue. Best non air tool method is a dead blow on the end of the fan clutch wrench.

This is the method I have always used.

When I did mine on a 7.3 I rented the fan clutch air tool from Orielys and used air hammer. I was pushing as hard as I could, using the air for about 30 minutes before it abruptly released. I bled profusely.

all the bearings fell out and its all wabbly , give me alittle more room , but i wish it would just fall off so id have alot more room.
