Got a 350 starter problem... Ok here we go ive purchased new starter removed old one that had no shims, put new one on without any shims and worked fine for id guess a week and a half now its grinding and catches the flexplate ive shimmed it since then its turns over nice then next time its shit again has anyone had this issue and would a NEW remy starter be a step up from stock or would i have same damn problem thanks in advance!

Seen it could be the bolts b/c the knurl on the end wears down and slips from starter anyone ever hear of this happening?

I have this issue with my boat. Has a marine 305 in it. Ever since I replaced the starter the dang thing wants to walk out of place and give me a headache. The replacement starter had a smaller mount on it and I had to go bolt shopping to find ones that worked better.

Try replacing the bolts?

I just picked some up gonna try tom since it raining and im a mechanic w/o a garage!!! hopefully it helps out well see
