ATF as fuel

I've been running WVO and WMO in both my 2001 2wd Cummins and 2001 4-door 4X4 Powerstroke (FOR SALE!!!) with no problems at all. I mainly drive the Dodge and have done the most experimentation with it. I am currently running 85% WVO and 15% diesel as that's the lowest percentage of diesel I can use and still have the truck start in the 50-60 degree mornings and as temps get colder I get closer to a 50/50 mix. This is all mixed as it is poured or pumped in to the tank. I have also used various mixes including WVO with a low percentage of gasoline, JP4 &/or Kerosene mixed with WVO, ATF and motor oil mixed with diesel. All of it burns good and so far the ONLY thing I have had to do to my truck is replace the lift pump at 116K miles (they typically fail between 60 and 120K miles anyway) and replace the fuel filter every 5000 miles.

For the filtering all I do is gravity feed WMO/WVO in a couple of 55 gallon drums, one with a 100 micron filter on top and the other with a 50 micron filter on top then it is pumped through an off the shelf Wal-Mart 20 then 5 micron water filter and into the truck, holding barrels or fuel cans. Pretty simple and in just the last 6 months I have save $2000 in fuel costs!

Anyone not using alternative fuels is missing the boat!

I get filter bags from ebay. Just got a .5 micron filter bag slow being gravity fed but I like the security. ebay search "WVO filter bag"

Mc master carr is where Get my bags. I used 1/5 micron bags two bags in one the filter last longer and it you buy 10 or more you get a big discount.

My grandfather has been experimenting with this lately. He bought a centrifuge (sp?), and a filter setup. It's only been a few months, but so far so good. I think he said he's using about 20% waste oil to 80% diesel. This is on a '02 ford w/7.3

Where did he get the centrifuge
