so I've got some questions... looking for a winch for the rear of the buggy. (triangulated four-link w/ airshocks)

1st: anti-sway bar VS winch... which would be more beneficial?
2nd: for those who have them, do you use them?
3rd: what size/type/brand?
4th: WARN VS ebay off-brands is there really a difference? (other than price)

looking at a WARN, something like this:

looking at a off-brand, something like this:

1st: You can do both. Use the winch more for a limiting strap and to reduce the rear height in a situation that requires a lower center of gravity. Then use the sway bar to just control body roll.

I saw what I beleive is the Warn 2500 atv winch in Lowes for about $150. I've seen it a few times, but haven't paid real close attention because I'm far from needing it. I like the warn's because I know I can get parts to rebuild it....so it'll last me a life time.

If you're running air shocks on all 4's, I'd get the sway bar. Without them, I've seen some funny gangsta lean going on...

I got my Warn 1700 from Northern for just over $100 with the replacement warranty.. it's enough to suck the suspension to the bumps.

Makes it tow nicer too when it's cinched down..

well i have no experience but Id say that the winch would be more useful in a buggy rear suspension, seein as bodyroll isnt that much of a big deal offroad... so my vote would be a winch... I think there was a thread here on it

talkin about how big of a winch you might need.... so an ATV winch might not be big enough...

i know the function of each, but my question is more of... if the budget allowed only one at a time, which would you get first??

:fuck-you: Then it's a matter of whether YOU like body roll or the suspension is set up so its limited enough that you can ignore it.

90% chance you'll want/need a rear swaybar. As for the rear winch, I never use mine. Me, Greg, and Patrick all have the 2000# HF winch that goes on sale for $50. Greg has broken the cable at least 5 times, never hurt the winch. They are all double line. If you overload them, they slip, not break like a warn :flipoff2:the 3000# sucks.
