[Aug 24, 2012] ECORS race @ Devil's Playground Aug 24 and 25 (Silver Valley, NC)

Well i wanted to bring the toyhauler and camp all weekend but forgot me and the wife had plans for friday..... looks like I can still come out saturday though,its gonna be a good time!
 
I'm headed out there this evening! Getting started early!


Here is the map of the course, parking areas, pits, spectator crossing areas, vendor row, and camping areas :)

Should be out there mid morning sat... Not racing but looking forward to seeing the big show..
 
Can you buy spectator tickets online? Looked at ecors site but didn't see it.

If qualifying was any indication of how the races will go its going to be a great day of racing. They were all running fast times and putting on a good show... cant wait for the green flag.
 
We had a great time. When I first got there I said, where are they gonna pass?

the answer was anywwhere and everywhere. I salute the racers who took the hard line through the rocks to get by.

PS. Who had the right hand drive rig out there and what's the story on that?

Well he obviously didnt build it to race, come to think of it Ive seen it twice and never wheeled by Sam. I think he built it to show off and let Cassidy break it.
 
Well since we're all picking on him.................

I've only seen it once and he was riding bitch. If Cassidy is an attractive young lady, then she was the one I saw driving it.

Seriously, I was just curious why it was right hand drive. We passed heading towards each other on the trail and I was like "Where is the steering wheel?" then I saw his passenger was driving. :lol:
 
That was Lauren driving, Cassidy isn't female. Sam was busy getting abused in my buggy when you saw Lauren driving his around. Confused yet?

I now know who the attractive female in the right hand seat was and I guess I can live with that.

1) Which of you dudes was in the left hand seat?

b) why is the rig right had drive?
 
I'll settle this Riddle.....

1) Ron, that was me (Austin) who broke the rear axle the other weekend when we were talking by the trailer.
2) Michael is a friend of ours who was with me when it broke, and with Sam at the race this past weekend.....he is the owner of the "Bass Boat" build on here.
3) Lauren is a piece of local talent that Sam picked up at Hardee's before the race.
4) Rig is right hand drive because he wanted a one piece front driveline w/ a passy drop front housing. Therefore, the motor had to be offset to the driver's side...or passy side?
5) We say drivers/passy side when spotting him....he still doesn't know which way to turn.
6) It goes fast.
 
I once fell in love with a girl at the McDonalds in Mountain City. I didn't drag her out in the woods though. She was working. Nice work Sam.

I thought it was an English buggy. Thanks for the explanation. Makes sense.
 
That was me in the passenger seat for the breakdown. And with the hot girl cruising me around.

I think i have too much time in that passenger seat.
