I bought a boat over the summer and began the jeep began to throw a P0701 - Transmission Control System Range Malfunction, or something like that. So, I flushed the trans. It will start properly and go through the gears properly, then you get to a steady speed it goes into overdrive and then kicks back down into third. Once it has kicked back down to third it won't recognize overdrive until the Jeep is cut off and then back on again and then the process starts all over again. I am taching 3K rpms at 60mph. The little on-board computer is telling me that I am getting between 10-13 mpg while this is happening.... Any ideas? I have to drive this thing to Charlotte in the am, but before I go I am trying to clean all connections that I can. Yes, I have another trans. at the house with about 60K on it if this one is toast, I just ain't ready to put it in yet.... Really can't win for losing
