axle id

also i was told the rear was a sterling 10.25. the #'s i could find are 8177 , f81w-aa. if this helps please let me know

Dana 60 front with ball joints and unit bearings. The rear is a Sterling 10.50 if from a 2000 model. All 10.50 axles have disc brakes. Be carefull with those axles. The ball joints can fail with hard uses and the unit bearings are considered by many to be weak. They are also expensive to replace. The rear axle is pretty strong.

One more thing - they are not a standard 8 lug pattern if from a 1999 or newer. If the rear has disc then it is 99 or newer. The lug pattern in 8x170 (metric)

If you want to be 100% sure get us the number off the ring gear.

thx

thanks gubni. thats what i thought but wanted to ask some one smarter than me.do you think the front will hold up under a cj-5 with around a 40 x11 military michelin?
