Axle Shaft Question

I bought a 2 post lift for my garage and need to install it.

What would be the longest "normal" axle shaft? I don't want the lift in the middle of the back part of my garage, but I don't want to get where I can't pull an axle shaft out.

Maybe 40" or so (I'm thinking front or offset rear)?

Shows 3/4 ton shafts for a Ford are 35" for the inner shaft plus 9" for the outter shaft once the ears are put in place by the ujoint. So maybe 45" for a longside assembled shaft? Would be the same for a 60.
