As others have said, it IS a 14 bolt. However, its not a desirable one. The 14 bolt was available in a 9.5" ring gear, semi-float version in the 2500 non-HD version. I know the newer body style 2000 models had disc brakes too, which makes the one pictured even less desirable. Its a big step up from the 8.6" GM put in the 1500's, but nowhere near as stout as the 10.5" full float 14 bolt.
