So I'm swapping the outer bearings in a rear D44 and the old bearing race seperated when I pulled the axle and the old race is still in the axle housing. Any suggestions on the easest way to get it out?

what do you mean the race separated, but it's still in the housing?? you mean the bearing came out with the shaft and the race is still in the hub?

i got your pm and i thought up a creative idea to remove the race without a slide hammer. cut a round plate from some 1/4 or thicker that is the same diameter as the id of the axle tube so it will sit behind the race. then cut 2 opposing straight turning it into an oval so it can be turned sideways to get into the housing, drill 1/2 hole in center of plate and weld a nut on the back of the plate so that threaded rod can be inserted into the plate, use a peice of 1" square about 6" long with a hole to go onto threaded rod and nut as a puller to remove race. or just go try to rent a puller if your not feeling creative.
