I'm starting to collect parts for a Tj build

I bought Tj tub/frame from ajbmx here on the board.

I'm looking to run spring under leafs in the rear with a traction bar

Havnt decided if I am going to run 4 link or 3 link in the front (already set up for 3 link so I may try this set up first

Coil overs in front. Not sure how to go about measuring for this till axle is set up.

4.0 aw4 np231 to start with

36 12.5 15 iroks or 35 12.5 15 km2

Not sure if 9 inch will hold up to 36s

60 and 14 bolt seems like over kill.

Opinions ?

Just 4-link the rear.

Only way you're saving money with leaves and a traction bar is if you already own them.

How much is a four link if I build the arms myself?

I was figuring 450$ plus frame brackets plus axle truss and brackets. Am I over estimating that ?

Shawn is right on that one. Unless you have rhe stuff already then it will cost just as much if not more. Id just use standard poly tube bushings and simple tab mounts for everything on the rear. Will come out nice and cheap and way better than leaves would. 36s and the 9" will be fine.

I'd stick with stock TJ stuff. Stock springs, control arm mounts, etc. Find some cheap tube lowers second-hand (cough, cough), etc.

It's this tub and frame

i havent wheeled with anyone with a tj set up like that. but have seen a few builds going that way. I have 1 at the shop was thinking of doing the same because of all the stock mounts being cut off. basicly an xj setup. just have a frame versus a unibody. maybe someone wheeling that setup will chime in. im pretty heavy on the skiiny pedall. and a 9' trear and hp 44 with chromos has done well for me. my current rig has that setup but is a 2.5 and im running 37s
and get it right. trampoline tubing for an exo welded directly to the sheet metal. and im sure he would help u with some custom longarms

With SUA, you won't need a traction bar. Spring under handles axle wrap 10x better than SOA. Just my thoughts. Good luck with the build.

I linked my old truck rear before I ever wheeled it and then I built a sami on leaves.I had no idea how much I would hate leaves after wheeling with a linked rear suspension.lots of dudes love leaves and can work very well but a proper linked setup will always work better.37" tyres and 9" and 44 will be fine especially after chromo shafts.if you can afford to link it you will not regret doing it
