Backhoe nearly stolen...

I'm starting to understand why so many older folks are disgruntled. They have been dealing with thieves, liars and people of little character longer than me. I used to start folks at 100% and let them work their way down from there. Now I start at 0% and they can earn my trust. Sad that I have been looking at all my acquaintances as possible thieves...

That said...I think older folks with a great disposition deserve more admiration and appreciation.
Yeah and they just tried to steal a back hoe.Wait till they break in your house the week before Christmas and take all your stuff plus your shoes. Its a lil more personal then.I spent 6 months lookin at peoples feet.

Here's the crew that was doing footers one week before attempt to steal my backhoe. Innocent until proven guilty.

If I post my property and someone enters and hurts themselves am I liable?

Probably. You can get sued for anything and good chance it will stick. Look at jury makeup of late.

Dead people don't get to tell their side of the story;)

Sold the backhoe:)
My initial plan was to buy a backhoe to do some work on our new Rd and then sell it saving thousands in grading. I did widen our logging Rd 8', dug 1400' ditch, installed 4 Rd pipes, dig footers for house, tore down and disposed of some rotted barns, made another 1200' road for Duke to run underground power, made numerous trails around perimeter of property, removed a good bit of debris from loggers and dug out a good many trees and stumps. I imagine all that work would have cost 5k or more. Made 3k on the sale so I'm thankful this plan worked out perfectly. Ever since the attempt to steal it I've been worried they would find where I've been hiding it. Thank God it was loaded up this am and headed to the new owner.

Sounds like a lot more than $5k worth of work, and a good profit, congrats! Only problem is now you are used to having it around, haha. What will you replace it with?

Yeah, I know. It was a happy and sad morning. I hope to find a mid sized backhoe for maintenance or maybe a tractor with loader and rent a mini excavator when needed. Only problem is little equipment is as much or more than the big stuff.

Buy a skidsteer with 4n1 bucket and an old 30+hp tractor with a bush hog. Rent an excavator if you ever need it. Nothing is as easy, handyou, or fast as a skidsteer.

Went to property today and someone has stolen my turkey blind...Ill get the asshat eventually.

Game camera got this pic of someone leaving my posted land Friday night at 12:48. They came into the property with lights off and all I got was shadows. My camera was too low and the flash hit the ground.... looks like a grand Cherokee,Cherokee or explorer to me and it has window stickers and brake light led strips. Anyone recognize the vehicle?

Its time for a camp out....

maybe even a 4runnner

That could be the case. I did ask for extra patrols since my backhoe nearly got stolen. Maybe it was police entering with lights out for stealth and leaving with them on. I have looked at many kinds of suv and can't seem to find one that has the same thin corner post and vertical side post...
I even went by the police station and sherrifs dept. to see there suvs but they were all newer models
