Im looking to run a 12.50 wide tire on my '05 ram 1500, im looking for some aftermarket rims as well. What kind of backspacing should I be looking for? When I was looking for rims for my jeep for this wide a tire, I was looking for 3.75-4" backspacing, should I be looking for same here? Would a 4.5" backspacing wheel work?

I think GubNi was referring to the width of the rim. I run 12.5's on 8" rims on my YJ, but a lot of truck owners seem to opt for a 10" rim. Maybe it's the load carrying capacity?

I've got a '96 RAM 2500, so am interested in what folks say about backspacing too - my current setup seems a bit "wide" (scraping the curb at the drivethru!) with 33x12.5x16s. Not sure what the offset is currently (brother installed these as he liked the "look" when it was his truck).

oh, I guess that would make sense. Im not really sure on the width of the rim. Just whatever I can find with the correct backspacing and looks good. Id go with a 17x8 through a 17x10 doesnt really matter to me.
