Who cares why it never caught on, I know what I will be having for breakfast tomorrow morning now! :D

Yep that looks tasty

but I do have to wonder if the grease from te hbacon (esp if it's still cooking) really messes up the pancake batter's ability to cook right and fluff out.

lol..i'll let ya know tomorrow.

Pre-surgery: Pour some syrup over the top and num num num!

After my gastric bypass I no longer like pork products.. Sucks too because I remember them tasting sooooo good.. :(

I heard something on the radio talking about bacon flavored popcorn!

I'll be curious to know how pancakes turn out, although I do put a little grease in the pan when I make pancakes... even if we don't actually have bacon.

So anyone make those yet? They look tasty !!!!

GF got everything out to make these....and then we realized we were outta pancake batter.

we had dinner....then went to walmart. we will have them for breakfast :bounce2:

Hey. You better save me some for when I come over tomorrow to look at the truck! :fuck-you:

So...... I just finished a huge slice of homemade scratch made carrot cake my wife made me for our anniversary.... Out of the blue I was thinking about the only thing better would be bacon with pancake over it.... Then I remembered this thread.....

So......

your better off to cook the bacon then the pancakes, wrap the bacon with the pancake & dip in your favorite syrup. Great when camping.

At least then you can eat most of the wonderful bacon goodness before anybody else gets a chance.

okay after some experience i found out...the picture is misleading. cook bacon and remove from griddle. pour pancake batter onto griddle. immediatly lay cooked bacon into still fluid pancake batter.

i mixed a little syrup into the batter. tasted awesome.

oh..and this might be blasphemous....but i used turkey bacon for a lower grease content.

Doesn't anybody else drain the bacon grease and save it for cooking? That's the biggest reason I see against using turkey bacon.

Personally, I eitehr uset he bacon grease right there on te hspot (e.g. for the eggs... hmmm...) or poor into a glass jar which latert hets thrown away.
We used to "save" is, but discovered it'd sit too long and get nasty.
My thinking is, if you need osme bacon grease for something - might as well just fry up some baco nto create it... pleasant side effect being - now you ave extra bacon around.

And i'll back up the use of Turkey bacon. it really isn't so bad and for non-grease applications, works very nicely.

Cook much? You certainly cook the bacon first. Takes a different temp and time to cook bacon vs. Pancakes. shhesh rookies:shaking:

um.. YA! Have a container right next to the stove that I save the grease in. Save it for eggs at RatLab said. and for seasoning veggies, and my cast iron pan.

I keep mine in the refrigerator in a lidded glass dish. Use it to fry eggs, hash browns, fish, venison, oh and don't forget the cornbread. ;) Veggies, I'll go half and half with olive oil.

lol, thanks chef. my point was the picture is misleading...it shows them pouring batter on the already cooked bacon..if you do this it wont work right...the emphasis i added was REMOVE BACON FROM GRIDDLE, then pour the batter into strips onto griddle and lay bacon into batter strips.
