Doing some maintenance on the tow rig this week. Realized most of the front end is original 10 year old, 202k mile parts. Did wheel bearings and all brake parts this week.

Wanting to start collecting parts to redo the rest of the front end. Looking for opinions on what balljoints people have been having good luck with.

Seems that EMF and Carli are the most recommended. I'm leaning towards EMF since they're a couple hundred less than Carli and can be rebuilt on the truck without removing the cup from the knuckle. Dynatrac is another option but reviews I read were mixed with several people complaining about them not lasting and having QC issues with parts.

Truck does not go off-road, it's a tow pig and highway cruiser only. But it's got a Carli leveling kit with 35's.

I was going to suggest a brand, but couldn't remember WTF it was. Then I saw you had mentioned it already. EMF :D

I installed EMF brand joints in my 3rd gen. They are quality pieces. I'd give them a shot of grease every oil change (5k). Never really seen any play in them in 50k till I sold truck

Did dynatrac's on my last truck. No issues, and I suppose they're rebuildable, but you have to take them out or take things so far apart it's just not worth it. Spent the coin on carlis on my current tow rig. Not planning to do ball joints again on this truck - ever.

If you went 202k and are not destroying tires then just ask yourself if you are going to do another 202k with it. If not, do stock parts.

I just replaced the entire front end on my 2012 back in October of last year, used AAM/Mopar ball joints and stock-style everything else. It only has 154k on it but was destroying tires because it was so worn out. I put maybe 3-4k a year on the truck so I don't I will ever wear out a stock set.

Plus if the stock ones lasted nearly 200k, hard to beat that.
