Bass Pro coming to Cary NC

I love the "artists rendering" of the store.
That could be anywhere.

Oh except for that giant flag, the city ordinances wouldn't let it be that tall.

It'll be whatever Cary's zoning ordinances allow. More than likely, they'll renovate the entire shopping center at the same time to match the Bass Pro design. Cary requires a shopping center to have 'unity of design', so that it all looks like it belongs together. That's one of many reasons that everything in Cary is red brick and beige EIFS.

And inside that red brick is lots and lots of fire retardant plywood and lumber!

There's a cell tower at Harrison and I-40 that the town of scary had them put fake tree branches on, to make it more visually pleasing

I read a while back that the Morrisville mall was gonna be turned into a Chinese style market/resturaunt/conference/cultural/social etc. destination of sorts for all the new Chinese peeps that are coming to RTP to work. Not heard much lately though.

Yeah, it was some weird thing. Here's what I understand - Apparently some developer bought the place thinking of tearing down half of it and building a convention center. Well, after the market fell out he lost the place and some Pakistani family bought it. They had some developer convinced that they were going to buy the place from them and turn it into Chinatown. Well, apparently the Pakistani family went and told everyone they sold the place and they needed to leave, all except the food court. Everyone left, the developer never paid the family a dime, and everything fell through. From what I understand, there has been some interest in the property, but the family is now thinking they can get more money by holding out for another developer who wants to turn it into Chinatown.

This is all rumor from what I've heard around here, but I do know for a fact that the developer never paid a dime and the project fell through.

I really hope they don't, place is right next to my work and would be nice to have something I might enjoy on my lunch hour.

Yea......Hooters has gotten old, used to be some nice/entertaining girls there, and the management is not the same anymore either.
