Referring backk to the "What is it?" post, you guys are right! I have probably 5 bats, hanging in the eve vent. They're on the outside, for now, thank goodness! Any one on here need or collect bats? My next Goggle search; Bats, how to get rid of them, how to keep them away. This has just happened over the past few months. Never had any before. Don't they eat Skitters? I Still got skitters!

They're prolly there cause heat from the attic vent keeps them warm now that it's getting cold. If you have bright lights, all night nearby that attracts the flying bugs they eat and they're roosting near their food.

Can you see where they're getting in, or is it obvious?

Build them a bat house on the southern facing side of your house. Factor in the guano droppings and how to use as fertilizer, etc. Google how to build one, they're not complicated, or just buy one. They eat a metric ton of skeeters. I had one for a few years, but my yard is too wooded. They like some space to fly around and circle.

Despite what you hear, they do NOT eat mosquitoes, but will eat their body weight+ nightly of every other bug. As everyone else said (except for the recipe), keep them around!

Had them for 10+ years at the old house and aside from a little bat skat UNDER the eve, no issues. I did staple some heavier (#4 or 1/4"?) hardware cloth behind the screen to KEEP them OUT if/when the 20 y/o screen failed.

Then they need to go next door to my neighbors private street light, & nest in Their vents!

They're not getting in, just roosting in the wooden gable vent. It's screened on the inside. I probably wouldn't know it, if they weren't shitting at my basement entrance door. It' must be their flight path, because the entrance door is to the south side of the gable. No droppings under the gable.

Sorry didnt mean in the house per se Meant in the eave.

bat traps are easy. They will crawl out of anything like a rat, but can’t crawl back in. So a plastic bag over the hole with an escape at the bottom they will crawl out at night to find food but can’t get back in because they can’t crawl up the bag.

you don’t want to leave them in place. They shit can carry hantavirus and even if not it’s high moisture and can promote mold and rot

They also carry rabies. Any contact at all with them, and you'll end up getting shots.
