I need to get a new one for my jeep and don't care to get another Optima. There are alot more options now than there used to be. Anyone have any suggestions or gripes about the others?
I use to have an Optima, but then the battery in my Tahoe took a dump, so I put the Optima from my cab truck in the Hoe. I just bought a fat ass commercial battery from Sam's to go in the cab truck. I think it is like 1150 CA or something stupidly high. It was under $100.
I have an Orbital from Napa. Wasn't cheap, but not quite the price heft of Optima.
Gell cell, been very happy w/ it so far, drained it accidentally once and it came right back.
I've had nothing but bad luck with multiple red tops in multiple vehicles too, they went down hill in quality and up in price years ago when they were bought out. Now I just use autozone gold batts. If you're trying to spend some money and want the best though, agm batteries are where it's at. Hawker/odyssey, powermaster, etc. Might look at running two lower rated odysseys rather than one large one.
i got one of the bigger gold tops from vatozone, have drained the battery a couple times and it came back, even if it doesn't free replacement for like 3 yrs or something.
I have a Vatozone el cheapo non Optima red top. I paid like 40 bucks for it and has lasted me at least 4 years. It has been run down and came back no problem. Even ran the truck for about 2 hours when the alt cable took a dump. Watch it die this weekend in the middle of the woods now that I said something
