so I need to put a battery disconnect in my CJ, and I want it right up next to the battery. I dont want that big clunky straight shaft T handle to deal with. Is it so difficult to turn or disengage/engage one of those suckers that a throttle cable style deal won't work?

I had 1 boat that I bought for parts. It had a large plastic round disconnect, that I didn't care for. The cables were so corroded The plastic switch, broke before I could get them loose.
I bought a Metal smaller one, that has a 1/4 turn metal handle, on the metal shaft, & installed it on My boat. My Dump truck, also has same style switch, on the battery box. Many parts stores, NAPA, & some Marine places, sell them, & other styles. You just need to do a Search.

You can get ones actuated by a push/pull cable (not a throttle cable) or you could get one of the Flaming River rod actuated switches. There are other styles than the T-handle if you just want something easier to use, is the cockpit actuation necessary?

Is this for convenience or is the switch mandated by a racing class rules?
