Needing some advice with an engine build.

What I am building:
-1953 Chevy 3800 flatbed, no idea on final weight

What it is for:
-looking and sounding sweet while running errands on the weekend
-to give my wife something ridiculous to roll up in to yoga class

What I have:
-4bolt, 454, bored .060
-4.25 stroker crankshaft (496ci)
-781 (oval) heads, stock valve sizing
-RPM Airgap and/or Dominator intake available
-750cfm edelbrock carb
-700r4
-4.11 rear gearing

Here's where I need help:

-Piston style choice - flat or dome?. I know nothing about what I should aim for in terms of compression or how it could be affected by the build choices thus far. This will be running on pump gas.

-Cam choice, I want power from idle to 3500rpm. Im not going to be racing in any capacity. I want it to sound like a top fuel drag boat, make panties wet, and scare the ricers cruising through town.

-Valvetrain component choice. I am sticking with stock valve sizes, but new valves, rockers, etc. What can/should I do in this capacity that would possibly be beneficial down the road if/when I decide to pull the heads back off and open up the valves?

These are kinda conflicting things. The hot cams that have a nice lope and really mean sound, but they suck for low end power and are best matched to a high revving, high stall torque converter.

I will assume that by pump gas you mean 93 octane? Ordinarily I would suggest dome pistons with open chamber heads and 93. But if your looking for something that beats the ground and "wets panties", then I would say stay flat top to be able to run a higher lift cam and get what you're looking for. Maybe someone makes domed pistons with valve reliefs, I'm not sure but it's a Chevy so everyone and their uncle makes parts for it.

Check out horsepower junkies forum. Local NC guys that build some awesome cars and engines. That's where I learned about parts compatibility for the 355 I built a few years back. I know some guys on there have built BBC's
