So i've decided to go with a BDS suspension lift for my TJ. I went to order the 4 1/2 short arm kit and found out that there is a lot you can add on. And everything you add on ups the price quite a bit. What can i get away with not getting and what is worth the extra money to get?
 
with 4.5" you are going to want lower control arms for the front at the very least. You need to correct your caster to avoid death wobble. I would also recommend 2 adjustable track bars to get your axles centered back under the jeep.
 
BDS 4.5" lift springs sit alittle highter than others so keep that in mind
4.5" springs sit at about 5.25" so i say your gonna probably need all 8 control arms and a SYE in addition to the track Bars that were already mentioned
or on the cheap side all 4 lower arms & track Bars & a TC drop
