Mebane and Efland Nc this morning is crawling with DOT. Pulling over a bunch 1 and 3/4 ton trucks with trailers.

DOT check week was earlier this month. Maybe they found an area they can really nail people at....

Had about 6-7 suvs with enclosed trailers pulled on both sides of the interstate.

Good...too many bruncledaddies on the road that don't understand just because you can get something rolling, doesn't mean you should.
But I've got a 460 with an RV cam making more HP and tq than those new diesels. And these ol' f100s were made with real metal. I don't see why I can't haul my skid steer with it.

At about 7:15 this morning I saw one pulled over in the westbound lane between the weigh station and exit 157. He had a red F250/350 (couldn't tell which as I was going east bound) with a tri axle enclosed bumper pull. The trailer had a shit ton of racing decals on the side and back.

I also saw 2 state troopers in Chargers with a couple of speeders pulled over between the Efland exits and the weigh station.

Ah...so you've seen the internet before...haha. 'Lets see how much you've towed' threads/posts are why I believe in post birth abortions.

As said before, it's not about getting it rolling. It's stopping it.

Unrelated, heavy vehicles tear up the roads which is why heavy vehicles cost more to register

Bah...brakes are for quitters!

(I'm only kidding)

So what are the checking? Are they weighing trailers to see if they're overloaded?
the could very well be checking weight. The SUV DOT guys that work 151 on Tuesday and Thursday all have portable scales.

I hear those round up and then they charge you by the pound.

I just don't understand why they pulled me over. Maybe next time I'll use my magnetic trailer, don't have to tie stuff down on it.

Honestly though I have been pulled going through there (in 2014 IIRC). No tag on trailer, triple axle car trailer with skid steer on it behind the Excursion. Friend from SC's trailer I "borrowed", and SUV doesn't require weighted tag, he checked it over and said I was good to go.
