can someone explain to me exactly what I need to be looking for when I'm looking for a set of bead lock wheels. and exactly how they work. Please.

most all external bead locks work the same. They have an outer ring that bolts to the wheel and the tire bead is sandwiched between the outer ring and the wheel.
dont look for flimsy thin outer rings that can be easily bent or warped. Only ones I've really dealt with are the DIY beadlocks, so I can't recommend or comment on anything other than those
