This may be a dumb question, but I don't have any experience with bead lock rims and could not really locate a cut and dry answer, The finish on my rings is flaking off in chunks and I either want to replace them or refinish them. Is it as simple as removing the wheel, letting all the air out, unbolting them, and either refinish them or replace them and air the tire back up? Or will I need to take it to a tire shop to have the bead reseated after I remove them?

I would pull the valve stems.....wait till they're empty and then remove the rings. You won't have to worry about seating the outside bead

Yep, it’s that simple. But as mentioned, pull the valve core for sure!
