Try not to go to a chain type or high end shop that does insepctions. Most of the Tech/Inspectors are fresh out of DMV school and they are most likely going to go by the book and I'm not saying that is a bad thing. When a vehicle comes in my shop and I know that it's not a primary driver or is used around a farm or just a hotrod I dont start flipping the book open to just to fail it knowing it might see 100 miles a year on the road. Try to find a local good ole boy shop that you or one of your buddies goes to and you should be fine.
back when mine was on the road I ran beadlocks all the time. Never had a problem with inspections. The shop I took it to ran drag cars so they knew exactly what they were, but didn't seem to care.
