Beasley Knob Info?

So my friend and are hitting Beasley Knob this weekend. I'm excited because I haven't been off roading in over a year :driver:.

Can anyone give me any trail info on the place? I've got a couple of maps and I know where the entrance is. However all the maps just say "93, 93A, 93C" etc, etc. No difficulty indicators. I know the trails get unpossible in the rain, but lets not assume the worst yet

The trucks we are taking up there are fairly capable. Suspension, rear lockers, TSL/LTB tires of the 33~35" flavor, armor, blah blah blah so I have a feeling we'll be fine as long as we don't stumble onto any ridiculous trails.

Also any recommendation on where to camp? We are just camping Friday night and in the back of the trucks. Can we simply find a clear spot on the side of the access trail and chill there?

Dunno if anyone here has any knowledge, just thought I'd ask. Thanks!

P.S. I have been googling this subject heavily and have pieced together a *little* bit of info but not enough to go on.

Good wheeling, there's a bunch of hill climbing/descending and the trails are pretty wooded. With all the rain we've had this week and the rigs you have it sounds like you've picked a great weekend! The last time I went it had just rained and man was it a blast, slick trails, but we had fun. Just a warning though you got to check the FS website to make sure it's open, they do close it during inclement weather. I'll try to dig up more info, but I'm sure there's already a thread on this.

Also, the Rangers will padlock the gates shut if the rain is more than a sprinkle... which is a good idea, because some of the trails are rated "deathwish" when slick!

Thanks for the info, pretty much what I've gathered.

Its been drizzling on and off for the last few hours here in ATL. Maybe the weather 100 miles north is better...

Will be calling in about 2 hours to get the word. Until then

Already checked it out. Just like so many other things in my life, a lot of talking but not a lot said

Called the FS about 10 times today, pre-recording says its open but I know its sloppy up there. I was outside right after work, it was so humid I just said F this. My buddy said the same thing and we'll hit it in the morning. Worked out well, a NASTY storm just rolled through. Instead of weathering it, I just sat inside, drinking a beer saying to myself, "How about that".

Gonna get up early tomorrow and be on site at a reasonable time.

It was epic fail .

First off, it was piss ass raining the entire time and then the muddy hill climbs thwarted all my efforts.

We ended up checking out some easier stuff around the area. Still salvaged the day even though washboard roads pretty much shook my truck apart.
