As the title says, is it worth getting a beefier diff cover for a D30 and a D35 on my ZJ? Opinions?

Or you could just weld a piece of metal to the diff cover to beef it up.

Well, all that extra weight would overload the 35 and blow it up anyway.

You can put an 8.8 under it fairly cheap if you look around. and then you can put a Great Lakes offroad diff cover on that for about $110.

X2 On welding some reinforcement to your original cover. MUCH cheaper and works just as good.
x3 get a d30 cover and use the other $100 into a axle swap. if it helps i have a set of thick 30/35 covers with 3/16 diamond plate welded down the center ill sell cheap.

Geez, you guys are killing this guys post and I was offering to help a fellow out. LOL

LOL, I am enjoying it, I am getting caught up on the happenings of nc4x4 BC (before Clay that is!)

Thanks for all the suggestions and offers to help. I think the concensus is to weld up a skid, and not spend the money on an after market cover. Eventually I want to toss the 35 and replace it with an 8.8, but I am just trying to save the 35 as long as I can to give that money tree in my back yard time to grow! :flipoff2:
