Beer Ice cream

Just saw a show on TV that said a shop in NY was making and selling Beer Ice cream. I have seen bacon flavored beer and now beer flavored ice cream, what's next? :rolleyes: :beer:
 
For a couple of years now, I've been enjoying an occasional Guiness float. Yeah, it's exactly what it sounds like. Two scoops of good vanilla in a glass with Guiness. The first bite's kinda weird. By the second, you're hooked! Just recently, I found out this is not my invention. Others have done the same thing. Still, it's delicious. Try it.

cocked the head at first like my rotty does to a strange sound....but i think ill try it, damn sure love Guinness
 
Had the double chocolate stout float at the saucer. Good stuff.:beer::beer:

My gf is a bartender at Quaker steak a bar here in greenville and they have the guinness floats on the menu! I tried It at home w/ guiness extra stout and Highland mocha porter it was alot better than reg. Guinness:beer: I was told that the Guinness that we get here in the states is actually the 17th version diluted to suit americans tastes. Dont Know how true this is I sat next to a old Irish guy at a pub and he rambled on about that for some time.
 
guinness is brewed in different locations. the stuff in dublin tastes nothing like the stuff in america. was just in jamaica and they have guinness there. awful, flat and nasty. the stuff in europe is a higher alcohol content vs the stuff in the us vs stuff marketed to the rest of the world. and also places will tell you they are serving "Guinness" which in the us there is extra stout and draught. then you get into what gas is pushing the stuff from the keg to the tap, clean lines, etc. on the factory tour they tell you the stuff in the us is all irish brewed but there is a plant in canada. sorry, im irish/scottish and the woman is irish lol.

I grew up working at the local DQ and we tried all kinds of beer shakes and floats, never had one worth finishing though.
