On Friday October 5, 2007, my Jeep was dropped off at the house, ending its two year stay in Charlotte. Overall, I'm pretty happy with most of the work that's been done and look forward to getting it on the road.

After looking at the Before and After photos someone's got to bring up the fact that I paid for the vehicle rather than building it myself. If you're saying that you'd be right. I know my limitations and welding on parts that are critical to the safety myself and anyone else around the Jeep fall well beyond those limits. I went and took the course at the local community college and determined that I should stick to what I know best and hand over the welding to a pro.

Up till now the work that's been done was completed by Andy and the crew at the Carolina Rock Shop. Paint and bodywork were completed by Body Works Plus. I'll go into more detail about whats been done at each shop later, right now it's time for a couple of pics.

It began on October 1, 2005 with a truck full of parts and a rolling shell of a Jeep. I had done my research (not nearly enough) and was ready to get this project underway. My plans included a full width conversion (10 bolts) with rear stretch on 35s, 4.3-4L60E-KluneV-Dana300. Boy oh boy, I had a plan.

I though it was fitting to show the Jeeps current status using the same basic photos as in the before pics. A lot has changed over the past two years. I'll go into more detail later on about how some of the decisions were made for changes to the plan I had. Hopefully, I can share some of the info I've gained through the buildup and keep someone from making the same mistakes I made.

More to follow, I'm tired of typing.

man i've seen that jeep up at CRS more than acouple times.. each time i was drooling.. sick setup man i really like it

i love before and afters... reminds me of a game on xbox i
used to play.... some 4x4 game, but you had to start with
stock trucks/jeeps, but then they graduated up to modified,
but you could just scroll to the side and BAM the truck all of
sudden had full-widths, 40's, cage.......ect ...haha
but this is an
awesome before and after... sweet jeep:beer::beer:

Thanks for all the compliments. Both CRS and Body Works Plus did some great work on the Jeep.

Robbie:
I can't remember the guy's name I bought the Jeep from. I found it in AutoTrader and picked it up in the Mint Hill / Stallings area. The man I bought if from hadn't owned the Jeep long.

Yea, it was pretty much a fixture at CRS for a while. I've got quite a few pics in different stages I'll post later on. If the buildup was 10 chapters, I've shown 3 and 7. I guess the buildup thread will be a lot like a Quentin Tarantino movie, and skip around.

MultiJeep:
I rented the dolly to pull the Jeep to CRS. I bought the trailer from Kaufmans. It's a 20' (2.5' dovetail) wood deck car hauler with dual breaking 4000 LB axles. I added heavy duty removable fenders, winch plate, and adjustable coupler. Now I just need to find a tow vehicle. My 1/2 ton Ram with 250,000 miles just isn't going to cut it.
