My kids are 4 and 2 I'm toying with the idea of getting a bench seat for the two of them to ride in. Yall that have 2 kids in a bench can you tell me how wide of a seat you went with and how much leg room you made for them.

I plan to build a kids buggy when my oldest turns 7 or 8 so a huge amount of leg room isn't necessary.

Thanks

My kids are 4 and 6, and I’m using a stock yj seat in the back of my Cj5. I stretched the Jeep 13” to get them some leg room and still leave me some storage room. I use 2” wide 4 point dragon fire sxs harness for them both. They fit them well. Before they were big enough for the the harnesses I was using their car seats with both the seat belt and a ratchet strap to securely hold them in place. I also made them both removable T handles to hang onto which really help my daughter from getting scared.

How wide is the yj seat and what's the distance between front and rear seats?

The closest point to the front seat is only about 7” away. It’s around 33” wide.

That 1/2 is very important at that age! lol
