For those that have bent the Main leaf what did you do to fix them. Can you heat/straighten them and then add another main leaf from something else. Or does the heat kill the springs tencil strength. Need some input as we have one that is bent.

Thanks
Doug

i just fixed one two days ago on a xj put it in a shop press and bend it more the other way lit it sit for a while then just keep adding pressure and letting it sit till its straight cant even tell mines bent

I have several sets of springs to play with. The bent ones are a 4" lift version and then I have a set of Stock YJ and then a set of Front Waggy's. My thought was to use the main from the other YJ but I am afraid that it is shorter since the arch is greater on the lift springs. I think if I straighten it and then cut the eyes off the waggy fronts and use them as a support it will be alright. I am going to add a trac bar as well.

when i bent my fronts from inverting the shackles in straightened the shackles out which unbent the springs, wheeled ont hem for a day, and presto!!! straight weak xj leafs... been wheeling/driving on them for 3 months now.....

can't wait to get another set so i can make some military wraps...

PS- my bandaide was welding on some stops so my shackles wouldn't be able to invert :)

Just a few days ago I saw the same problem:D. I just ran over it with my truck and it was bent back almost all the way so that the spring could be bolted to the jeep. That was on a YJ 4" spring too.
