What is it? I don't mind to pay a little more but I want something I can put in the garage while I'm working and maybe other places. I saw this one:

It looks cool but it doesn't look like it would be OK hanging around a shop but then again maybe it is.

You may want to consider one of the waterproof ones. May not be as powerful and have as clean of sound as the Bose one, but with dust, etc flying around a shop, a speaker is going to take some punishment quickly.

I have the smaller Jawbone I think its great. Lasts about 6-8 hours. I used it while i was repainting my boat at a boat yard. Loud enough to hear 20' away from it. It is not water proof though.

idk haven't used the battery for long but I know it doesn't like to be turned up all the on the battery guess it uses to much power.

runner is going to be ready by the next open ride at the flats, just finished up the doubler gotta switch the trans out and gear it and should be good to go

i didnt really look at them.. i got mine for free which makes it even better. plus if it does die it just takes a standard phone cord to charge it.

For the money JBL flip. I've had mine for 2 years and the battery is still strong. Sounds great, and I've dropped it a few times.

The ONLY one I would consider replacing my JBL is the Bose. The beats Pill is junk.

I like my JBL Charge, but it's a lil more than $100. I like the fact that it can recharge my phone while it plays, keeps my phone fresh. I crank it in the garage or by the pool, it does great, but it's still not gonna be heard well at a full blown pool party. Lasts 12 hrs maybe, I keep it charged and it doesn't really run out.

Look at the Creative D100 on Amazon.

Mine is 3+ years old as kicks ass.
Its loud enough to take to the pool in the summer sit it in the corner and hear. Would rattle a shop.

The best part to me is it runs off power or batteries, and for batteries it takes (4) AA's. I can get about 6 hours out of the AAs, and if we are at the beach, you can just pack replacement batteries. Also has a hard line in port so you can play older ipods etc that arent bluetooth.

I paid like $90 for mine when I bought it but a quick search shows its down to $40 now. I may just buy a second one for that price!

I have a harmon kardan (sp?) I got from sprint as a package deal with new phones for the wife and i. Its originally 300 or so but i got it for 100. Batt life is supposed to be 6hrs, but it doesnt get that at full volume. Its pretty dang loud in my shop, neighbors can hear it.

Boom Urchin. Lists at $149 but I have seen it as low as $100. IPX4 rated for water splash resistance, it even comes with a suction cup mount to use in the shower! Extra loud and good battery life.
