Best BBQ in the Carolinas?

" XL cherry lemon sundrop with pellet ice and pour a half pint of Jack into it"
uuuuummm old farmers Marvin Smith and Wayne Barbee? I had to babysit them at night when I worked the Gulf Gas Station, they'd sit on the bench out front talking and drinking all night with the Sundrop/Jack mix thing, sometimes they would pump gas for people. Good stories, both long dead now.

Yep, that would be them. They would hold down that bench all night! Jimmy the Greek's Gulf Station was the hot spot of Cabarrus county night life!

Scott's barbecue and Grady's barbecue here in wayne county for old time cue cooked up by folks doing it for generations.Scott's sauce is sold across the state in grocery stores.Wilbur's is ok.Parkers is a tad dry.Bill's is ok too.
Any pork cooked with hickory tastes like bacon.Only oak fer me.Mustard based....really?Tomato based...ewww!

Starlite and B's are pretty close...

If you've been to Wilson or Greenville and think Parker's is good, you are out of your mind... B's beats them out big time.

If you are in Wilson and go to Parker's, detour to Bill's for better food

Blue Mist in Asheboro (they cook over a wood fire).
Always enjoy Bill Ellis' in Wilson, nuthin like whole-hog pickin.
...make my mouth water jus thinkin about it!

Thou shalt not compare any other BBQ to 12 Bones here in Asheville. It's worth the drive. Period.
yep i second that. when people are willing to stand in a 100' line out the door every day rain or shine you know it's good!

I finally stoped at the Blue Mist this past summer and it was kind of dry.Very palatable tho.Rather have it than a finger to the eye...
Bill Ellises way over Parker's.Oh and Parker's only has boys as servers.Women and girls work in the kitchen or behind the counter taking money.Kind of like having a waitress myself.

Pic N Pig in Carthage NC. This place has been family owned for forever, and has the best pit smoked dry rub pulled pork bbq in the world. Everything there is homemade (including the deserts). It's right on next to a small airstrip and you can't beat it. I'll drive there anyday to get me some.
