Trying to help a buddy of mine put in a clutch for an 01 Wrangler with the 4.0 motor.
Looking for a good quality heavy duty clutch. A point in the right direction would be appreciated. Don't know anything about Jeeps. Thanks

Don't waste your money on anything gimmicky/fancy. Just get a decent quality regular clutch. I've always had good luck with LUK.

x2 on the luk pro gold. had it on a couple diff jeeps and am pleased with its performance.

Not that I'm trying to go over anyone's head here. I recently put A clutch in my 1990 Yj. After much research on the subject, I decided to go with the Centerforce II clutch. It has an organic disc, with Kevlar woven into it. The real benefit though, Is the centrifugal counterweights. This feature, Makes the clutch lock up tighter, the faster it spins. I have nothing but good things to say, about how well this actually works. No slippage, @ higher RPM's!:driver:

Yeah

Many Centerforce clutches are actually LUK clutches, just modified for better or worse depending on your opinion.

I bought a Zoom over at NAPA and it wasnt to expensive but seems to be a very nice clutch that holds at high rpms and when riding it a little in a sketch situation. It is sometimes load when pushing in the clutch though

sorry if i am hijacking this thread, but i also am putting a new clutch in my yj and wanted to know if the centerforce stage 3 dual friction clutch was worth the money
I don't have the number anymore, but you should talk to the tech's at Centerforce. They can help you with the particulars, of your application! Stage two, was better for my I6, daily driver/ occasional offroad needs. Stage three, Is for drag race/ high HP apps. Worth it, if you do mud, or sand drags, @ 500+ HP. 4WD Parts, had all the other related parts. (hydraulic release unit, stab tool, Bolts/pilot bearing kit, & pilot removal tool.)
