Go to this website Scenic Highways & Byways (it's a US-DOT site) and click on the link in the top left corner for "Get your America's Byways Brochure".

The 'brochure' is the National Geographic Guide to Scenic Highways & Byways. 459 pages, 3rd edition 2007, and list price is $25 on the back cover.

Not bad for $free.

Took about 4 weeks for mine to show up.
