I know plenty of people have done this swap and I've read about more than one person having to order a second set of brand new headers so I'm asking you guys before I purchase a set. I want the in the frame ones not the fenderwell design and I am running bolt in Advance Adapter motor mounts on my 78 CJ. Thanks.

I've ran run of the mill shorty/block huggers on my yj without issue. Only thing you have to keep in mind is if running GM efi, the block huggers are too close to mount the knock sensor in the factory location.

I am swapping a 5.7 into my flatty using shorty headers off of ebay for $100.

NC-V where will the sensor relocate to?

not running EFI yet......prob revamp everything down the road for LS but simpler the better right now. Just want to only order headers once for this particular setup.

The Headers Jeff described should work just fine for you (I think they were $70/free shipping back when I bought them lol)

Jeff: I believe it is best to have it centrally located on motor since there is only one sensor on the early efi setups. That way it is more likely to pick up knock from all cylinders, but I drilled and tapped my fuel pump block off plate and moved it there and it worked fine.

Thanks I will be looking for that issue when I swap mine.

Cool, they had some scratched ones with the high temp coating in the garage sale section that were very reasonable so hopefully they'll work out well.
