I need a good propane hook up. My weekend wheeling trip depends on it. I can either get a good deal and stay till Sunday or have to turn back Saturday night. Is there anywhere or anyone around Haywood County or Buncombe that knows where to get propane for cheap?

thanks

I assume you are filling forklift tanks...here's a tip, if you don't already know...

I had a total of 8 tanks, six or so had a separate fill valve...others had to fill thru the outlet, like a 20# cylinder. Propane places (around here) charge a flat rate for the forklift tanks. The tanks with a separate fill valve can be filled from the truck, and you pay by the gallon, which is much cheaper. Faster, too. I'd run all of them empty, then take then down and fill all at once, and usually also the ASME tank in my truck.

I'd just have to call and be sure one of the home delivery trucks was there when I went.

Both places I had mine filled here in Morganton always just charged me by the gallon. Never a flat rate.

Have a tank set at your house. Then fill them yourself. It's crazy how much money you will save. Plus you can fill them any time you want and it doesn't matter if they are half full.

Most places here are by the gallon and my tank is underground.

I had the sweet hook up at $1.75/gallon but it fell through on me at the last minute. Now it looks like I'll have to pay double that.

anybody?

I always go where the big pipes come out of the ground. The midget mini-domes.:flipoff2: Greensborough, Apex. The local dealers that only have to travel a couple of miles to fill are guaranteed to be much cheaper. I use LG Jordan Oil in Apex.
Honestly, I travel from Durham to Apex and usually save over twice the gas and time.
I've gave thought on making a trailer with a 500 gal. tank? That way I could travel to the cheaper station and bring it home to fill myself because my local stations that deliver in Durham are expensive! It's only been a thought so I don't know what DMV would think about it?
