Best rates on auto loans

BB&T was nice enough to quote me 7%, even though the rate on my wife's car through them was only about 2% in 2014...

They've gone up since 2014, but not that much. Member of a credit union? I got 2.9% on an '09 last year.

Piedmont Credit Union is great to deal with. It'll cost you $5 to become a member. I can help you out if you want too. BB&T is great but their loans are for the newest used cars

If you have good credit, Lightstream is great to deal with. They're the online lending branch of SunTrust, and have really low rates usually and you can often keep the title. I've only used them for new vehicles but I think they do used as well.

Telco Community Credit Union was under 4% a couple months ago.

Penfed. I do all of mine from them and most friends use them also. Some are competive with their rates these days but they used to destroy everybody else's

Most large banks are going to be higher. Seems that they have been higher on most everything recently where I e found much better rates with the local banks, credit unions, and S&L banks

I'd say Nix the Bank! Bought a new 2015, & dealer ran it through GM, which was 3.3%/5 years. I traded that truck for a 2016, different dealer, got BOA at 2.9%/5 years. I Personally asked Wells Fargo, & 5th-3rd, where I do business, & both were 3.5-4% on New vehicle.

I got 4.75 through SECU (state employees credit union) on my 06 on 4 years

Farm Bureau Bank can get you in the 3-4% range depending on term length. Vehicle has to be no older than 10 years.

All of my stuff is through NC SECU though.

Yep, I shop between them, Navy Fed and USAA when needed. Can't be beat if you can join.

Yep, join a credit union. I think they always have the best rates. Charlotte Metro was advertising a 0.9% awhile back, but I think they are 1.9 right now. Ally bank also has some good rates.

We have gotten 0% on both our new car purchases, but they may also have great rates for used car.

I saw their add in Sunday's paper, something like 1.74. I couldn't read the fine print, but I suspect it's for buying through Their "Buyers Club", & New. There's Always a Catch!

1.99 at truliant and if you do automatic payments they'll take .25 off the rate. They also keep your same credit report on file for 90 days. They'll even finance used for around 2.5 %

Mine was bought from a individual, they gave me a quarter of a percent off the rate if i auto drafted the loan.
