lookin to do a cam swap on my sbc jus wondering should i look for a cam with a low rpm power curve or high or does it really matter that much.
 
When I was building my motor I called Edelbrock and talked to their techs. Told them what I was doing with the motor and they pointed me towards an RV cam for a 400ci SBC. I was very happy.
 
to start with, what trans & gears are you running? stall converter? what size engine and what heads are you planning on running? what type of intake/carb are you planning on? daily driver use or for play only? what ratio rocker arms are you using? are you aiming for max hp or nice healthy bottom end torque?
