Best Shipping to APO?

My nephew has landed himself in the sandbox for the next year and thought I'd send along a little care package to get him started.

Is the USPS still the only action? Are they still cutting some slack for servicemen or back to their brokeass raping?
 
Use a flat rate box from USPS. hands down the best and quickest shipping to an APO. I've sent many packages over the years to our soldiers
 
Post office should still be the best bet. I've sent large stuff overseas by mail to APO's and the regular addresses. 50 bucks regular, less that 8 bucks APO.
But a call to your local Postmaster would confirm prices to where ever.

USPS is the only delivery service to the sandbox. I dont recall seeing any brown trucks or fedex cruising around a combat zone.
 
Dave let me know before you you send it, I will add a few things to it....
 
Fed ex and UPS will only get it to a staging area somewhere here in the States or Europe if i remember right then it goes to the PO. The only delivery trucks i ever seen in country was DHL and that was in Baghdad. Never seen anything in Afghanistan but then again i was always at the small FOB's.
