hey guys im looking for the best/strongest universals for the money. im not looking to spend $60 or $70 a piece but ill spend the extra for good ones. they are going in a 84 chevy k10 pickup. im doing a trans/tcase swap and wanted to replace the universals in the driveshafts before reinstalling.

In that price range I would say Spicers would be your best bet

who sells spicer u-joints?

will do thanks!!

i appreciate the help guys ill give olivers a call monday and see what i can do!!

Tom at Carolina Driveline has some sweet Spicers, that have a super seal on them. You'd never worry about losing a cap; as a matter of fact im not sure if I could get them off. Never had a single problem out of them.

I've used him for years.

I run spicers in my drive shafts. Never had any issues. For the money you can't beat them.

im going to call around tomarrow and see what i can find. thanks for the opinions guys helped me out alot!!

I agree. The 1410 Spicers on my rear shaft have been through a broken axle shaft and Detroit locked and took it like a champ. Carolina Driveline is awesome too, I've got three driveshafts from them and they're nice stuff.

x2 on the carolina drivetrain... i just had my rear driveshaft rebuilt and going to get the front one done today... spicer 1310's with the triple seal(really strong) for 16 a pop. 7.50 per ujoint mount and 40 dollars to balance.

Question, why would you want your unjointed to be stronger than your Driveshaft or even your locker?

A unjoint is a whole lot cheaper. I'll take the unjoint for the weak point in my driveline.

I agree it is good to make something in your driveline to be a weak point because something is going to break at some point and it is best that it is something you can control and repair. Like locking hubs on the front axle is the best thing to go weaker on, and the only place I would want super beefy ujoints, but each its on. Spicer u joint are a good all around set up. Good luck with it.

Also, you should think about using full circle clips(snap rings) on youre axle shafts ujoints. Much stronger than the half moons, I have seen joints fail due to the clips popping out under heavy stess.
