question: im am getting a pull behind camper that will way 6500-7000 and am looking at used trucks to pull it. The truck will sit allot but also be a dd. im looking 90's f250, f350 or chevy 2500. big question is gas or diesle. any sugestions thanks

This question really has no answer and everyone will have an opinion. I asked myself this same question a few months ago, and it really came down to money. I would first set your budget and then look for trucks in that range. Everyone knows a diesel is king of towing, but they also can cost double what a comprable gas truck would.

For me, I coudn't afford a diesel without 200k+ miles, and even though the motor can go forever, other components, especially suspension and steering would be wearing out real soon, and need to be replaced. I ultimately went with my Dodge V10 gasser, it only has 105k on it, and it was in my price range. Does gas mileage suck, yes it does; but there are always trade offs.

OK, in short, if you have $10k to spend on a truck, get a mid to late 90s dodge or ford diesel.

Imhp, buy a motorhome and pull anything you want. You can buy a nice 98 -02 diesel pusher now and a couple years later almost get your money back! Big brakes, diesel, and room to carry anything you think you might need! Pulls boats, jeeps, flat tows a lot of stuff. The price of truck and camper adds up to the price of a nice older pusher.

we have talked about mh but i was thinkiing about all that down time on the truck part. plus i use my jeep as a truck so i need a truck, also we plan on maybe living in the camper while we build a house. thanks for the advise
