If you live within the area defined by the State of Emergency for Isabel, your CCW has been invalidated.

14-288.7. Transporting dangerous weapon or substance during emergency; possessing off premises; exceptions.

(a) Except as otherwise provided in this section, it is unlawful for any person to transport or possess off his own premises any dangerous weapon or substance in any area:

(1) In which a declared state of emergency exists; or

(2) Within the immediate vicinity of which a riot is occurring.

(b) This section does not apply to persons exempted from the provisions of G.S. 14-269 with respect to any activities lawfully engaged in while carrying out their duties.

(c) Any person who violates any provision of this section is guilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor.

No, I'm sure he means Bev, Irene didn't declare the state of emergency, Bev did.

BTW there was legislation out there to end this law, but I don't know what ever came out of it.

My son and I have the suburban loaded with emergency supplies and a list of elderly people in the area to keep a check on. If we do encounter any looters his potato gun is loaded and ready. "I love my country but ashamed of my government":rolleyes:

I could be wrong but she didn't enact the law, she just declared the SOE. Just like every other previous governor has.

But she did invalidate the CCWs.

Otherwise, that's a Clintonesque way to parse the argument. She didn't *flush* the toilet, but she was present and may have recognized the conditions which allowed said toilet to flush. :lol:

So much for the second ammendment. I would think that the Constitution would trump the state statute. I would love to see what the court would say. The right to keep and bear arms SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED.

I agree completely. If there is ever a time where CC license holders should carry, it should be now. She is an effin iddiot. Like hell I am leaving my guns at my house if forced to evacuate. That is just asking for trouble. I will take my chances in court.
 
MAYBE you can use the 4th amendment since they crapped on the second, just don't give anyone probable cause.

Yes, she invalidated the CCWs by declaring a state of emerrgency.
So what you're saying is that the governor should withold declaring a SOE b/c it has this built in caveat that somebody else put in place years ago?
I'm not saying its a good law - its plain retarded. I'm just saying it's not really fair to blame the governor specifically for the retardedness.

I agree - if you leave your guns out your house and are forced to evacuate thats just more weapons that will get into the hands of criminals when the looters are carrying your big screen outta the house.. I have other issues with Bev, but this is just more brown icing on her :poop:cake.

What CCW? Situations like this are exactly the reason why getting one in the first place is bullshit. If they don't want you to carry, they'll simply revoke your right for any whimsical reason they deem necessary.

A misdemeanor charge of carrying a concealed weapon is not grounds for denial of getting a CCW permit application approved. However, like you said, be a permit holder and get caught carrying while your "right" has been revoked, the same misdemeanor charge per the quoted statute, and your permit is gone.

just a quick thing but dont tell anyone it came from me.. you cant have them in hiding but they can be in plain view. also you would have to find the officer that would charge it if you were not being a dumb a$$
