So back in November I ordered a set of beadlock inner rings so I build a different set of wheels. Payed 126.xx on Nov 17th. Then just out of curiosity to check shipping time I called on friday the 22nd and was told they'd ship by the 29th. I really needed them by that day and offered to pay more. Jason said no he'd just ship them on the 29th instead I asked if it were possible to refund since they hadn't been made yet and he said he didn't want to and that was it he told me I should buy another set elsewhere and resell the ones I bought from him. (Nice guy)

So I try to call him on the 6th to get a tracking #, no answer. Call next day and email, no answer. I wait till the 10th then every day until today I call and email with no response. I filed a paypal dispute, and finally just got pissed and called about a dozen times in a row and he answered like he was oblivious to everything. Blows off my issue and responds with "I thought you were just going to buy another set and that you didn't need them right away". Really man, F'ing really, it's almost a month later and you haven't even shipped them yet? He says he is not by a computer but will refund my money when he can. I said by tonight is the only accepted result since now I know he's a damn liar.

Calls a hour later saying he wants to send the rings and refund my money and I told him I don't even want his shit. I bought a set of locks from total metal innovation and had them in under a week and now have no use for anything from his company. I just want my money back. Said he'd do it anyways since the rings are just laying around his shop and he has no use or room for them. So we'll see. I'll update as things transpire.

I think there is a good thread on Pirate about this guy. Something like he set up a paypal for a guy/family in need so everyone on pirate could donate to it and he was going to take them the money to them. Needless to say they never got their money.

Correct me if I'm wrong. I don't have time to search pirate.
 
I saw that, they took funds to get him hubs. He said he had them but couldn't find them. Claimed to have them again and lije 2 months later he refunded them all their money and dude never got his parts. Then he said to not ask him to help with charity after the headache it caused even though he volunteered to do it and was the reason the guy got lied to.

This is why I'd buy local. If something doesn't work out you can drive and talk to someone.
Like mentioned mud pro makes the same product as does Barnes and both are within an hour to an hour and a half from you.

Glad it worked out in the end.
 
I'm kinda picky about places I order from. If they don't remember me from the last times I've ordered or they aren't very willing to give some tech support, etc, I usually won't deal with them.

If ECGS, Ruff Stuff, or WFO don't have what I need then I'll just make it myself. Sometimes I'll order from Off Road Design. I've used these 4 places for 95% of parts I've ever bought and haven't had a single problem getting anyone on the phone, no order mix ups, and definitely haven't been screwed over or had to bitch to get any progress with anything. None of them use pay pal either :rolleyes:
 
I make a good bit myself, I guess that's why I'm more prone to gettig pissed at shops when I order stuff and they slack. I work In production now and have worked in many fab and design shops so I know what it takes to make the stuff.

Update: money was "refunded" by him when I opened the dispute with paypal. It was supposed to have been back in my account by midnight, today I get a message from paypal saying he does not have funds so the case will be held longer. Guess I'll be calling him again today. I wonder if it will take 10 or 15 calls to get him to answer this time.

I spoke with him again, he called paypal. Paypal emaiked me saying funds should be back today.

Nah, he got the point. And he knows that I posted this on a few forums too and had nothing to say about it. He knows he's a chump.

Just to let you guys know I did finally get my money back after fighting with him over it and having to call him constantly. But still those extra beadlock rings he was swearing he'd send as good faith and a apology have yet to show after nearly 6 months.
